August at the Club: Highlights + What’s Ahead!

A New School Year at the Club!
|
We were so excited to welcome our members back on August 6 for another year of our After-School Program! There’s nothing better than having the Club full of kids again, and we are looking forward to a great school year filled with fun, learning, and new opportunities.
Our programming is already getting underway! Weekly programs include Cooking Class & Healthy Habits on Mondays, Passport to Manhood on Tuesdays, Money Matters & LEGO Robotics on Wednesdays, SMART Girls on Thursdays, and Torch Club on Fridays. These are just some of the activities happening at the Club—during programming time, each of our rooms offers different activities and opportunities for members to participate in.

2026 Flag Football Season
|
Flag Football is back at the Club! We kicked things off with our Flag Football Camp on August 18, giving our players a chance to get on the field, practice their skills, and get ready for the season ahead.
Next up is our Flag Football Jamboree on September 12, which will officially kick off this year’s games! We are excited to see our players take the field and are looking forward to another great season of learning, teamwork, and fun.
Good luck to all of our players and teams this season!

35th Annual Farmers Bank of Milton Golf Scramble
|
Our 35th Annual Farmers Bank of Milton Golf Scramble was held on August 8, and we couldn’t have asked for a better day! We had great weather, lots of fun, and 18 teams join us for this year’s scramble.
Congratulations to our top three teams—Team Dickerson, Team M&M, and Team River City Printing! We are incredibly grateful that all three teams generously chose to donate their winnings back to the Club. Along with a great day of golf, participants also had the chance to take part in our putting contest and 50/50 drawing.
This year’s scramble was one of our most successful yet, raising more for the Club than in years prior! A huge thank you to Farmers Bank of Milton, all of our sponsors, golfers, donors, volunteers, and everyone who helped make the day possible. Your support helps us continue providing opportunities for the youth we serve, and we are so grateful to everyone who was part of this year’s event.
Save the Date! Our 36th Annual Golf Scramble will be held August 7, 2027!

9th Annual Youth Tailgate Party!
|
Get ready for a fun evening for the whole family! The 9th Annual Youth Tailgate Party is coming up on Friday, September 18, and everyone is invited!
This free, family-friendly event brings together youth and families from schools throughout Jefferson County for an evening of games, activities, giveaways, and helpful community resources before the Madison Cubs football game.
Join us from 5:30 PM until kickoff at 7:00 PM in the Madison High School back parking lot. Come out, have some fun, connect with our community, and get ready to cheer on the Cubs!
Community Partners Wanted! We invite local organizations and community partners to join the fun by hosting an interactive booth, activity, game, giveaway, or resource table. There is no fee to participate, and we encourage organizations to make their space as engaging and youth-friendly as possible.
We hope to see our community come together for another great Youth Tailgate Party!

E-Learning Day? We’ve Got You Covered!
|
The Club will be open September 17 from 7:00 AM–5:30 PM for Madison’s Secondary E-Learning Day! We’ll have Wi-Fi and space available for students to complete their schoolwork, plus plenty of fun Club activities to enjoy once their work is finished. Breakfast, lunch, and snack will also be provided.
There is no additional cost for current After-School Program members. Not an after-school member? No problem! No membership is required to attend full-day care. Non-members can join us for just $10 per child, per day.
All children attending must have updated information on file, so parents should make sure everything is completed before the E-Learning Day.
And mark your calendars—we’ll do it all again on October 1 for Madison’s Elementary E-Learning Day, also from 7:00 AM–5:30 PM!

Meet Kristin Consley, our Finance Coordinator! Kristin has been part of the Club for over four years, starting out working directly with our members before growing into the role she has today. What she loves most about her job is knowing that the work she does behind the scenes helps the Club continue to serve local youth and families. Her proudest moments come from seeing the kids she first met when she started at the Club continue to grow and knowing she’s been part of a place that makes a difference in their lives. One word to describe Kristin? Dedicated! We’re so thankful for everything she does to keep things running smoothly and for the heart she has for the Club and its mission.

Be a Child's Champion – Sponsor a Membership
|
Join our 1 Child, 1 School Year campaign and make a lasting difference for a local child. By donating $50 per month (or $600 annually), you can provide a child with a full year of after-school care, giving them a safe place to learn, grow, build friendships, and reach their full potential. Your support can change a child's future—one school year at a time.
